CATALINA GARDEN

To further strengthen our family's bond, we decided to go to a church with a picnic feel so little Djuzamdjin won't be bored while Mom and Dad say their prayers. The church really has a wonderful view, but they do not allow picture taking within the church premises so as not to disturb others prayers. A mass was going on at the time so we decided to take our pictures in their Catalina Garden. There you are free to do things. Eat, run, pose, get noisy.
In this photo you can see an overlooking view of the southern part of Davao City.
They collect only P5.00 as entrance fee to see this garden. Although there is actually not much to see, but finding the right angles to pose is more than worth of what you paid for. Besides, this is just a side trip after praying.

To get here from downtown Davao, you need to ride a jeepney with a route reaching Matina, but not thru Quimpo Boulevard (more commonly known as Ecoland). Ask the driver to drop you in "Kanto Shrine" (Shrine Hills Crossing). From there you take a tricycle up to the Shrine of the Holy Infant of Prague, or you can walk up and pass through the stations of the cross and have a view of the northern part of Davao City.

The Catalina Garden is a constant choice for photo shoots and amateur filming
This is not really a good view but shooting at good angles makes things better.
This pond, though not maintained still houses Koi fishes and frogs
The Garden have tables and chairs to cater your lunch or snacks. There is also a canteen if you wish to have your food taken indoors.

for now...we head to the exits
